Ääni museoissa

Äänellä on keskeinen rooli vierailijakokemuksen luonnissa. Se tarjoaa kontekstia, tulkintaa ja tarinankerrontaa, jotka syventävät taideteosten, esineiden ja näyttelyiden ymmärtämistä ja arvostusta. Äänellä on voima valloittaa yleisö, herättää tunteita ja luoda kestäviä mielikuvia.

Tämä ilmainen tapahtuma on suunnattu museoalan ammattilaisille, jotka haluavat tutkia äänen mahdollisuuksia näyttelykokemusten kehittämisessä.

  A newly discovered percept, auditory envelopment (AE), is a primary influencer of emotion in humans of all ages, regardless if AE is associated with abstract sound, atmospheric sound or music. Recent studies are summarised and described. Use of AE as an emotional inducer in exhibitions, spanning from eeriness to comfort and relaxation, are discussed, and considered alongside requirements such as uniform sound coverage, clarity and speech intelligibility.
• 14.00 - Johan Ahrenfelt: "An immersive approach to exhibition design - The use of sounddesign at Moesgaard"
  
  Moesgaard is the second largest cultural historical museum in Denmark. The Moesgaard Exhibition Design Studio, created before the opening of the museum in 2014 is besides creating exhibitions at Moesgaard, tdesigning and implementing exhibitions for other museums. The immersive approach to exhibition design, is one of the key characteristics. By the use of scenography, projections, light and sound encapsulating the artifacts, the exhibitions try to improve the visitor experience. During the presentation examples on and concepts behind different sound designs will be adressed.

• 15.00 - Aki Päivärinne: "Iho voi olla lentokenttä, jos äänellä voi matkustaa ajassa – äänisuunnittelu museoihin, äänitaiteeseen ja julkisiin tiloihin vuonna 2030"
  
  Puheenvuorossa äänisuunnittelija Aki Päivärinne avaa suunnittelunsa taiteellisia prosesseja ja kertoo näkemyksestään äänisuunnittelun roolista osana tilallista narraatiota näyttelysuunnittelussa.
• 15.40 - Päivän yhteenveto museojohtaja Anna-Maria von Bonsdorffin kanssa, jonka jälkeen seuraa mahdollisuus tutustua uuteen Rajojen rikkojat -näyttelyyn.
• 17.00 - Museo sulkeutuu.

Thomas Lund

Senior Technologist, Genelec Oy

Thomas Lund has authored numerous papers on human perception, loudness and sound exposure. He is lead researcher at Genelec; writer of international audio standards; and convenor under the European Commission and WHO, in the prevention of hearing loss. Out of a medical background, Thomas previously served in Danish healthcare, and as CTO at TC Electronic.

Johan Ahrenfelt

Manager Exhibition Technology, Moesgaard Museum

Johan has been working with exhibition technology since 2010. Since 2013 he has been managing the exhibition technology at Moesgaard - and together with his staff designing and implementing technical solutions at Moesgaard and other museums. Before focusing on exhibitions, he has experience from live and studio production besides beeing a musician. Thereby his special interest in sound design. Johan holds a masters degree in Information Studies.

Aki Päivärinne

Sound Designer, OiOi Collective Oy

In his sonic landscapes Päivärinne explores dimensions and intersections of architecture, psychology, nature, music, noise, stories, light, touch and abstract art-elements. Aki’s projects have included multiple sound designs for museums, installation and light-art, showrooms, sound -and performance-art. Aki is working full-time in a multidisciplinary design team in OiOi Collective Oy. In most of his sound designs he uses sound as spatial element and seeks to interact with audience from three dimensional space. Aki has a masters degree from University of Arts Helsinki and is also a wind instrument specialist.
