The Genelec 4040A – A Sound, Environmental Choice!
The Genelec 4040A is the new model in their 4000 Series range of active 2-way loudspeakers. The model is designed for demanding speech amplification projects in the professional installation market and now includes a unique AutoStart function that is compliant with the new ErP (energy related-products) Directive. The ErP Directive is designed to promote more environmentally friendly product design and requires that stand-by power is under 0.5W when the equipment is not in use. Genelec is the first active loudspeaker manufacturer to implement this feature on a product for the professional installation market.
“Environmental considerations are increasingly becoming important in the product and system design process,” says Terho Savolainen, Marketing Manager at Genelec. “At Genelec we have always taken our environmental responsibilities seriously and have a successful tradition of sustainable manufacturing. We think that as an industry we have a responsibility to work together towards a greener future for the industry and the new AutoStart feature is a typical example of how we incorporate environmental thinking into our product designs.”
The 4040 is designed for use in applications such as large conference rooms and auditoria. The product features a larger tweeter and more powerful amplifier (than the 4020/4030) and achieves an unprecedented level of clarity and SPL (Sound pressure Level) for perfect sound reproduction in demanding speech amplification projects. This exceptional performance combines with other features developed with systems integrators in mind; no rack mounted amplifier required, low heat load generation for fan free cooling, full circuit protection, to deliver the premier active loudspeaker solution on the market.
While integrators working on speech amplification projects will enjoy the amount of SPL and clarity the 4040A offers, they will also appreciate that special attention has also been given to minimising microphone feedback. This is achieved with a controlled directivity pattern which ensures more gain can be used before microphone feedback becomes an issue - a key benefit in a corporate setting.
Alongside the speech amplification benefits the 4040A is also a powerful active loudspeaker that is perfectly suited to music playback- whatever the chosen environment. The larger tweeter produces powerful, pitch perfect reproduction at the highest frequencies. Allied to the premium performance is the renowned Scandinavian design and build quality, which combines top quality materials with stylish looks to make the 4040A the new benchmark for loudspeakers in the audio visual sector.
