Genelec Gets Active at Infocomm 2011

The new 4000 Series will get its official North American launch at Infocomm (June 11-17, Orange County Convention Centre, Orlando, Florida). The new range delivers the same high-level performance as the company’s studio monitors, but with additional features specifically designed for the system integration market. A prototype of the brand new 4040A will also be on the booth.

A range two-way active loudspeakers, the 4000 Series has connectivity and installation features to ensure a smooth, trouble-free audio installation for contractors and system integrators. All models in the 4000 Series are fitted with “Phoenix” screw terminals in common with the leading products in the A/V sector. This ensures an easy, secure connection and interference-free, professional quality sound. The audio performance and stress-free installation are further enhanced by the perfectly matched integrated amplifier. The in-built protection circuitry also guarantees the reliability of the loudspeaker system in all operating conditions, as drivers are electronically protected from signal peaks and misuse of the system. This single-assembly combination chassis makes for a surprisingly compact and powerful amplified loudspeaker system that is easy to install and can be discreetly integrated into end-user environments of all types and design.

The 4040A is a new model in the 4000 Series. The new model is also designed for the professional installation market and incorporates new features for use in applications such as larger conference rooms and auditoria. Complete with a new larger tweeter and more powerful amplifier, the 4040A delivers an unprecedented level of clarity and SPL (Sound pressure Level) for perfect sound reproduction in the most demanding speech amplification projects. This exceptional performance combines with other features developed with systems integrators in mind; no rack mounted amplifier required, low heat load generation for fan free cooling, full circuit protection, to deliver the premier active loudspeaker solution on the market.

Also on display will be the AIW25 Active In-Wall Loudspeaker, the AIC25 Active In-Ceiling Loudspeaker and the AOW312 Active On-Wall Loudspeaker, all models in Genelec’s range of architectural solutions. Each model is designed to meet the needs of the contractor/integrator and underscores Genelec’s ongoing commitment to the high-end installation market. The AIW25 and the AIC25 supply the ultimate in design integration. Each features perfectly matched, separate RAM2 remote amplifier modules. An optional 4U high RAM Rack Adaptor can accommodate up to eight RAM2 or RAM3 amplifiers. The AIW25 and AIC25 each come complete with a metal enclosure to maximize performance and ease of installation. New construction brackets are also available. In addition, the AIW25 employs Genelec’s proprietary Directivity Control Waveguide™ (DCW™), which ensures excellent stereo imaging and frequency balance even in difficult acoustic environments.

AIWS5041A Active In-Wall Subwoofer, part of Genelec’s custom installation product range. Designed for easy installation by the contactor or system integrator, the AIWS5041A is Genelec’s first active in-wall subwoofer, and like all Genelec Custom Installation products, it offers the unmatched performance and uncompromising sound quality for which Genelec is known. Equipped with a pair of 6½" drivers and a tuned port, it can be mounted in any standard stud wall. Using four independent mounting brackets, the enclosure is completely isolated from the wall surfaces, eliminating any potential vibration from being transmitted to the walls. A protective cover shields the drivers from potential damage during the construction phase of a project. The system includes a rack-mountable RAM3 amplifier that supplies 125 Watts of power.
